Programs
Curriculum
We offer Little Treasures curriculum from Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, which is developmentally appropriate, research-based, and approved by the State of Maryland. Our curriculum supports 3 and 4 year olds with the academic and social demands of Kindergarten and includes: language and vocabulary, social studies, science, math, and music. Each area is linked to unit themes. We also offer structured curriculum that is developmentally appropriate for 2 year olds.
Units and Themes
Unit 1 - Who We Are
Children learn about the many things they can do and all the reasons they should feel good about themselves.
Unit 2 - Making Friends
Children learn how to make friends and be a good friend, and about the fun things friends can do together.
Unit 3 - Families
Children learn what makes a family, what families do together, and how family members help each other.
Unit 4 - Food
Children learn about different kinds of food, where food comes from, and how food changes when you cook it.
Unit 5 - Our Neighborhood
Children learn about the many people and places in their neighborhood communities - from farms to cities.
Unit 6 - Transportation
Children learn about different ways to travel in the air, on the ground, and through the water and how various vehicles are alike and different.
Unit 7 - Animals Around Us
Children learn about taking care of pets and farm animals and how they grow and change.
Unit 8 - Nature
Children learn about the wonders of nature and how changes in the weather affect plants, animals, and people.
Unit 9 - Animals in the Wild
Children learn about animals that live in wild environments, how their habitats are different from those of pets, and what makes these animals special.
Unit 10 - Health and Fitness
Children learn how our body works and waht it needs to stay healthy, such as eating properly, exercising, and maintaining proper hygiene.
